These first two videos are of a couple of rooms at The Grange. I think they are nicely styled and appointed and the bathrooms are really wonderful. The only downside is that they are not quite as large as something at the The Allison or Tributary but I don’t think those properties give you the privacy, setting and food program that The Black Walnut delivers on.
This is the large, ground floor shared space in The Grange. Breakfast will be served here every morning for the group (different set up). As you will see from the next video, the space just outside here is narrower than I remembered. This common space would be good if the evening is too warm to be outside, the group really doesn’t like bugs (Oregon tends to be less buggy than much of the country but it is summer) or if you all really like the idea of hanging out very very close to your rooms.
Also, the little patch of grass out front isn’t ideal for lawn games - which you have been clear about wanting. There are some other options that you will see below - they just aren’t RIGHT out front. The next two pictures show the short but dirt/uphill walk to a house on property with a really nice lawn and patio area that is probably more like you’re imagining.
The building in the upper left is The Grange
Just around that corner is the lawn/patio. You can see the top of the house in the upper left.
If you want access to the house or even just the lower floor, they can do that. The bathroom and kitchen would be right there - drinks, snacks, etc.
Confirming but I think there is only one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The other 4 bedrooms have shared bathrooms. These bedrooms aren’t as nicely appointed but the balcony view is nice.
They can give you a ride anywhere on property - including up to that patio with the nice lawn. There is also an option to rent a golf cart.
Two more spaces to consider. I have not 100% confirmed that they can be reserved for your exclusive use but I suspect they will be ok with that. First is the Cellar Bar area. There is cornhole to the right (not shown) and some lawn that would be ok but not great (it’s not really watered) for bocce. This has nice seating, access to a restroom and a great view.
And here is the mid-level patio. Great views/setup and a small, manicured lawn that would work for bocce. The gravel area would be good for cornhole. It’s a nice patio but in fairly close proximity to other guests and their rooms. This is right off the main building - 50 yards-ish from The Grange.
